Luxurious Mexico Beaches

Idyllic Mexico beaches can be found in the picture postcard setting of the Mayan Riviera. This inspirational location runs along the full width of the Caribbean Coastline in Quintana Roo.

The stunning coastline extends for over 80 miles, providing endless opportunities to enjoy the unspoilt beaches.

There are of course many beautiful beaches in other parts of Mexico, for example in Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos and Acapulco you can discover an impressive selection of coastal destinations. However few areas offer the combined vacation possibilities that you can find in this region.

You could easily spend the duration of your entire vacation sunbathing on the picturesque coast in Riviera Maya.

Just sit back, relax and enjoy the panoramic views. Feel the sand dunes beneath your toes and the sun shining down on you. As I'm writing this I'm feeling tempted already to start planning my next trip.

If you're anything like me though, I enjoy nothing better than sipping an ice cold drink, whilst taking in the inspiring beauty of the pristine, white sand leading into the Caribbean sea.

Popular Coastal Destinations

The enticing sand dunes and clear turquoise water were the main reason that we planned our first vacation to this region.

We soon learned that there are so many other equally significant attractions and exciting things to do. However the thought of sunbathing on the beautiful Mexico beaches and enjoying the fantastic weather and climate still pulls us back year on year.

(By the way, make sure to take plenty of suncream when sunbathing. You don't want to end up looking like me after spending too long in the hot sun as a resemblance of what could be best described as a walking red rooster).

You can enjoy the luxurious coastal areas in Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras, Akumal, Puerto Morelos, Cancun and the island of Cozumel. Each of these places are home to a range of resorts and each area has its own range of vacation amenities and specific points of interest.

Popular resorts and hotels in the Mayan Riviera are situated directly on the pristine Caribbean Coastline.

It's a fantastic experience to be able to access beautiful Mexico beaches within a very short walk from your hotel room.

If you're lucky you can even get a sea view from your window or balcony. We have stayed in various hotels when enjoying our vacations and we are yet to find a bad section of the beach. The maintenance of the coastal areas is often taken care of by the relevant resort staff. All the resort staff members that we have encountered have always been really friendly, welcoming and polite.

The excellent condition and standards of the Tulum, Playa del Carmen and Akumal beaches is a reflection of the high attention to detail and quality in place at the majority of the all inclusive resorts.

If you are planning to stay in one of the larger resorts, then you can enjoy the opportunity to explore a wide stretch of the beautiful Caribbean Coastline, without even leaving the confines of the resort grounds.

Snorkeling and Scuba Diving

If you ever tire of relaxing on the Mexico beaches, or If you just fancy a break from sunbathing, then why not try one of the nearby attractions. Common coastal activities include, beach volleyball, parasailing, scuba diving, catamaran sail boat tours, surfing, swimming and snorkeling.

One attraction which draws a seemingly endless supply of visitors to the Mayan Riviera is the Belize Barrier Reef.

The Belize Barrier Reef is the second longest coral reef in the world and runs the full length along the Caribbean coastline of Mexico.

The reef is home to spectacular underwater coral formations and colourful collections of vibrant marine life.

If you enjoy the concept of scuba diving or snorkeling this just has to be explored.

The experience is breathtaking! Did you see what I did there; diving - breathtaking, okay I'll stop.

If you're feeling really adventurous then you could try parasailing as well. This is a great way to see the Caribbean Sea from a different perspective and it's an experience you will never forget. This is what I have been told anyway, to be honest I am still building up the courage to try it.

You could always just relax and explore the beautiful Mexico beaches of course. Cozumel is home to many hidden gems just waiting to be enjoyed. Many people visit the Tulum Ruins site where you can discover impressive Mayan architecture overlooking the Caribbean Coast.
