Mexican Holidays Location Guide

Mexican Holidays offer a a world of possibilities and the chance for visitors to enjoy an exciting, inspirational experience.

Before you start packing your bags and jetting off on the first flight though,
it is a good idea to do some forward planning to really help you to get the best out of your vacation adventure.

One of the greatest features of a holiday to Mexico is that there are just so many options to choose from. In fact it would probably take more like one to two years rather than one to two weeks to fully appreciate and enjoy all the fantastic amenities on offer.

Planning your Mexican Holidays should be a fun and enjoyable experience. However the realisation of making key decisions about what to do, and where to stay can often be quite a daunting prospect. Due to the seemingly endless list of things to do and the high number of resort recommendations, planning your perfect Mexico vacation can often be overwhelming at times.

Preparing for your Mexican Holidays

One of the first factors to decide upon is the location. Some people like to be based near their favourite attractions, whilst others simply choose their favourite hotel and plan their vacation from there.

The Caribbean Coastline of Mexico is home to the popular holiday destinations of Cancun and the Mayan Riviera. Within the Mayan Riviera itself, you can find the stunning locations of Playa del Carmen, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos and Cozumel.

My wife describes Mexican holidays as like sunshine in
a bottle. Her face lights up whenever we go there.

On our first Riviera Maya vacation, we loved lounging around on the beaches enjoying the pleasant sunshine and hot
Mexican weather.

On subsequent vacations, we began to really explore the varied cultural and historical sites on offer.

We always seem to find an array of fascinating places to explore and new attractions to enjoy. Another factor you may wish to consider when planning your trip is which time of year to travel. The weather is generally hot all year round, allowing you to plan your Mexico vacation for either the spring,
summer or winter months.

Weather Conditions and Climate

Many people take advantage of the beautiful weather to travel at Easter time or during the festive Christmas season.

One time of the year that you should be careful when traveling though is the peak months of the hurricane season. It is a good idea to familiarise yourself with the latest weather reports and travel information before booking your dream vacation.

When planning your Mexican holidays it is advisible to explore a range of resort reviews. There are many options for you to choose from in the Mayan Riviera with a wide selection of impressive resorts spread out in large open spaces dotted along the breathtaking Caribbean coast.

The top rated hotels in the region provide an excellent standard of service
and are usually set in luxurious surroundings. The hotels are normally just a stones throw away from the stunning white sandy Mexico beaches.

Choosing Your Resort

The resorts are generally big and cover extensive areas of land, you could
even stay onsite for your entire Mexican holidays and never run out of things
to do within the resort grounds.

There are a selection of luxury hotels to stay in if you're looking for high quality, comfort and relaxation.

The majority of large complex Riviera Maya Resorts are distinctly different
to the built up and often over crowded areas surrounding Cancun. Choosing your perfect resort will all depend on your specific circumstances. For example, a couple seeking a romantic Mexico honeymoon may prefer to stay in one of the luxury hotels or quieter resorts in Tulum or Akumal. Where as a family or group of people with multiple age ranges and multiple interests to cater for, may prefer to be based in one of the popular Playa del Carmen resorts.

If you're travelling from Cancun International Airport you can usually expect
a one to two hour transfer to your hotel. It all depends of course on how many stops that the coach makes and the proximity of your resorts location.

Vacation Excursions and Activities

Once you have decided on the location and time of year for your Mexican holidays it is a good idea to start thinking about any attractions or amenities that you may wish to visit.

The destinations based around Cancun and the Mayan Riviera provide a widespread selection of Mexico attractions for you to enjoy. If you enjoy an activity based, action packed vacation, there are water sports, eco-parks (Xel-Ha and Xcaret) and adventure parks (Xplor) that all the family will enjoy.

The Belize Barrier Reef (which is the second largest coral reef in the world)
is a popular hotspot for travellers. Many people plan their holiday here just to experience this natural wonder and enjoy the chance to experience snorkelling and scuba diving off the coast of the Mayan Riviera.

Another reason to visit Mexico is to experience the unique cultural traditions and historical landmarks.

The Mayan Ruin sites at Chichen Itza, Coba and Muyil are fascinating places.

The ruins at Tulum are set right on the beach, this is a great place to explore and offers some spectacular photo opportunities.

Of course it depends on your budget but if you combine a few attractions and pick one of the many great Riviera Maya Resorts to stay in, you will be in for a great time and a great holiday. A good guide would be to visit one of the Mayan Ruin sites and maybe one of the eco-parks.

The best thing to do is plan ahead and decide which attractions and locations appeal to you most. After all, planning and looking forward is all part of the process of getting the best out your vacation experience.

However, whatever you decide to do and wherever you decide to stay you
will no doubt be all set for a truly memorable and enjoyable experience on your Mexican holidays.
